The Announcement of the SNAP Program
Recently we have had a lot of adult cats turned into the shelter. Thus a program called SNAP was born. SNAP stands for Seniors Needing A Pet. This program has two parts. The first part is finding seniors who are interested in having a cat as a life long companion. If you know of someone who would be interested in becoming a SNAP candidate please contact Theresa at the AWS Shelter 725-0589. The second part is getting $20.00 donations or corporate sponsors to underwrite the adoption cost of the cats for the seniors. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor for this program please contact Theresa at the AWS Shelter.
The Announcement of Barnyard Bandits
At AWS we take great pride at being a no kill shelter. However, there are sometimes when we cannot adopt out adult cats that have been littered at the Shelter. When the cats have been at the shelter for a long period of time (over a year) they go "Kennel Crazy." Basically the cats start getting nasty because they are cooped up in a small area for such a long period of time. So we created a program called Barnyard Bandits. Barnyard Bandits places our cats with local farms. All of these adult cats that have been already spay or neutered. If you are interested in participating in this program please contact Theresa at the Shelter. All participants will be subject to a home inspection prior to being excepted to the program. If you are interested in participating in this program contact Theresa at the shelter.
