Is your pet microchipped?  Microchips can help identify you as the owner if your pet is lost.  Your contact information is stored online and available to vets and animal control officers when your lost pet is scanned.

If you would like to have your dog or cat microchipped, AWS will implant a chip and provide free registration for life for a one-time fee of $20.00.

Microchipping is done by appointment only at the shelter.  Please call the shelter at 304-725-0589 to schedule an appointment.

What if your pet is lost?

Beginning January 1, 2015, every dog, puppy, cat and kitten adopted from AWS is microchipped at no cost to the adopter. This includes a lifetime registration with no annual update fees.

Harley loves his toys, but what he really needs is to stay warm this winter!

We’re raising funds to purchase and install an emergency backup generator for the shelter. We have had numerous outages, some that could jeopardize our shelter animals.  Please check out our GoFundMe fundraising project. <click here>
